Meet the Author: Jane Kurtz
Meet Jane Kurtz, the award-winning author of our Girl of the Year 2010
books! These informal sessions are your chance to meet Ms. Kurtz in
person and have your favorite books signed. Free and open to the
public. For girls ages 8 and up.

In Minneapolis -- American Girl Lunch with Author Jane Kurtz
Those who attend will enjoy a delicious
lunch with Ms. Kurtz, who will share the secrets of her writing process
and explain how she created the stories of our newest Girl of the Year.
All American Girl book fans and aspiring writers are encouraged to stay
for a Q&A session. Reservations required. For girls ages 8 and up.

Howard Kurtz's Life of Giving
Author Jane Kurtz's father died on December 18, 2009. His death ended
a lifetime of sacrifice and giving that enriched many people in the
global community. This tribute was published in the Presbytery of the Cascades online publication at: www.cascadespresbytery.org/HaroldKurtz.html.
He will be remembered as "A globe-spanning missionary" and a
"Presbyterian Frontier Fellowship leader." He succumbed to brain cancer
which had been discovered in May of 2009. The article was originally

Jane Kurtz Speaks at Warren County Public Library
Jane Kurtz , award winning author of over twenty five books for
children and young adults, spoke at the Warren County Public Library on
Tuesday, October 7th about “THE POWER OF READING AND WRITING TO CHANGE
US FROM THE INSIDE OUT” The Monmouth College graduate talked about how
books set her parents (both also Monmouth College students) on an
amazing path of international travel, shaped her own life, shaped the
lives of her siblings, and helped her to support the first children's

Jane Kurtz is a charter member of the board of Ethiopia Readsand
its efforts to spread literacy through out Ethiopia -- her
childhood home. Yohannes Gebregeorgis is one of the major forces
in those efforts and now lives, again in Ethiopia where the project is
growing each day. Ethiopia Reads is
beginning to yield wide support -- please become one of those support
pillars.
And for the first time ever a children's librarian -- Yohannes Gebregeorgis -- has been
nominated as one of CNN's top 10 Heroes. Voting is going on
